Nice bright, targeted reading lamp -- or spotlight. It's not very tall, but the compact size is perfect for reading while seated. It came broken down in a surprisingly compact package, but assembly was easy and the completed stand is sturdy. Recommended. I am thoroughly impressed with the craftsmanship.
